Taking a Leap of Faith in the New Year!
“Too many of us are not living our dreams, because we are living our fears.” – Les Brown
How many of us have had ideas and dreams, but were too afraid to take that leap of faith and go after them! Don’t worry you are not alone. Many people have failed to go after their dreams and have later seen someone else succeed with that very same idea.
Fear is not a bad thing to have, because it can alert you of real danger, thus keeping you safe. It’s when fear is limiting your ability to accomplish your dreams it becomes a heavy burden.
Fear is learned during childhood, when you witness others afraid to go after their dreams or you were told that you could not accomplish one of yours. As children, we internalize this learned information and equate taking a risk or leap of faith with fear. Consequently, our subconscious mind learns to avoid any type of behavior associated with risk taking, as it is seen as dangerous.
Taking a leap of faith calls for courage and trust in yourself and the universe, it’s like being a baby and trusting that your legs will be steady enough to hold you up when you try to take that first step. When you take that first step towards your goal, you may wonder whether you will be secure enough to find the right path to accomplish this goal. You are now crossing uncharted territory and the fear is so strong that you can smell it in the air. But what separates people who are successful and those that are not is that the successful ones took that leap of faith and worked toward their dreams until it became a reality.
They did not let others hold them back with their input and they did not let fear crush their dreams. They took the leap of faith that this was their destiny and they continued pursuing it until it was accomplished.
It is easy to sit back and not work towards your dream. You have accomplished this goal of living in fear and being stagnate and not exceeding your possibilities. So why can’t you do the same with accomplishing your dream of success? Why can’t you manifest the same results, but do it in the opposite way. Channel your energy to be successful rather than stagnate and complacent in your life! The New Year is around the corner and with that brings new energy and new goals. Let us stop living our fears and live our dreams in 2016!
